Every one knows that serving others is part of a Christians lifestyle, but do we really apply it to our lives everyday?
Opportunities
God has blessed us all with the ability to start each day fresh. Each day God will drop little opportunities for us to make someones day brighter or help them out in some way!
Are we looking for these opportunities?
- Galatians 5:13: this verse tells us to use our freedom as an opportunity. Consistently look for ways to serve those around you!
Serving others comes in all shapes and sizes!
- 1st peter 4:10 tells us that each one of us was born with our own gift and we use that gift to serve others.
Serving does not mean that you are giving to the homeless or baking a meal for someone in need. It can be as simple as doing the laundry at home.
yes, for real. that simple.
Being a wife or mom is an excellent opportunity to serve! Start seeing all those little mundane chores as ways you can serve your husband or child.
Even if your single, you can serve others by sending someone an encouraging word or being there for a friend in need.
The opportunities are endless! Just take advantage of each opportunity you see– big or small!
Giving is better than receiving
- Acts 20:35 says its more blessed to give.
- WHY? – Luke 6:38- give and it will be given to you
- Colossians 3:24
If God says you are blessed when you give to others you best believe it!
Other reasons for serving others:
- So people can see your light shine!!!! – Matthew 5:16. you are setting a good example by being Christs servant.
- It makes you so so happy! The happiest of people are those who serve others– its proven! It is also proven to help with things like depression & loneliness. I’m sure this is because its what we were made to do. We were created to serve other people– it fulfills us
- Lastly, we should serve because Christ served for us. He gave us everything he had to the point of dying and while he was living on earth he spent his time seeking out the opportunities to help others.
So im going to leave you with this verse: Romans 12:11
I’m taking on the challenge & I hope you will as well, to look for opportunities to serve others more.
Let me know if you see a change in your life when you do! 🙂
